Danny Shaw is the Design and Production Manager for the Time Inc./Warner Bros. website Essence.com. The popular women site offers unique content, which includes video programming such as Extra on ESSENCE, Coffee Talk and ESSENCE TV — and an active online community with their social network channels. Working directly with Managing Editor Emil Wilbekin and General Manager Lesley Pickney, he is one of the driving forces behind the design, development and execution of all editorial and marketing packages. Danny also spearheads many digital projects and initiatives such as apps, mobile sites and digital marketing campaigns.

Danny joined ESSENCE in 2008 as a freelancer with a vast knowledge of design and production with experience in print and web. Mr.Shaw is also a skilled fine artist with a degree in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors degree in Communication Design from the New York City College of Technology.

Always intent on merging the creative process with business objectives, he has consistently looked for new ways to execute client goals while staying on top of technology and design trends, using his knowledge to offer a range of solutions.

His position as a digital professional with marketing training makes him key in all areas of various projects. His experience as a business, creative and marketing professional is the foundation for the strength of his skill set. He contributes to projects in a way not usually seen or expected from traditional "creatives".

When he's not busy wrestling pixels on his monitor or wresting members of his team in their cubicles, he can be found watching episodes of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report fighting for truthiness.
